The Following Takes Place Between 6:00AM and 8:00AM

I am sitting here watching Episode 22 getting ready for this 2-hour finale and I have realized one thing: It would be ridiculously impossible to pay close attention to the crazy finale and do live updates. The finale will just be too action packed and complex to keep track of everything. So I'm going to have to pass on the live blog and just do a reaction blog at 10ET. I might pop in during the 2-hour for a few comments here and there though.

First Hour

1st Segment: Tony thinks ahead? I guess a little bit of his smarts stayed with him through the change of character.

2nd Segment: Kim did the best she could. She didnt panic when Renee called her and covered well when the man came over. She even took a page out of her fathers book and made the best of what she had to get the job done. Too bad it didnt entirely work out. Great Episode so far. Hang on. This one is gonna get hairy. Liv Taylor is going down. Finally. Its gonna happen.

3rd Segment: Ouch! That was a really long needle. And Jack just hit some notes I dont ever think we heard before. I think he's ready for the choir. Well FBI better come through fast because if Tony's whole plan of harvesting the pathogen off of Jack will work, it seems like they are getting pretty close.

4th Segment: Theres a new Bauer in town! Kim Bauer is running point! She followed that dude everywhere and ultimately led him to his fiery downfall. Then she grabs the laptop and spits out all of this CTU Tech lingo and knows exactly what to do!

5th Segment: Jack is Back! 3 Kills! First since 10:47PM! Thats my man!

Second Hour

1st Segment: Now we know Tony's motive. I think. Now what? As far as I see, Jack's all out of options.

2nd Segment: FBI to the rescue. Huge firefight, Tony gets away. So does Wilson. Tony gets Wilson face to face and is ready to kill him, but Renee and Jack busts in and shoots Tony to stop him from shooting Wilson. Tony is still alive though.

3rd Segment: Where is Tony? What did they do with him? I like Jack's little monologue there. That was some deep stuff right there.

4th Segment: That guy from the mosque comes to visit Jack. Jack says he is sorry for things he has done and they pray. Then Jack says "Its Time"

5th Segment: No Comment

-------------------------------
Are you kidding me? No. I dont even know what to say. Cliffhanger. Wow. So I guess I will try to sort out where we currently stand...
Well Jack is currently in a coma that was induced to "ease him through some of the harsh symptoms". Kim has agreed to go through with the stem cell treatment to try to cure Jack. She says she is not ready to let him go.
Renee, on the other hand, was in the middle of turning into Renee Bauer when the clocks turned 8. She had just pulled her gun on Janis and told her to cuff herself to a pole while she walked into the holding room where Wilson is sitting.
Meanwhile, Tony is no where to be found. Ever since he was shot be Jack and he was taken away screaming, we haven't seen him. The season is over and Tony is not dead. Now we know he is going to have another role in season 8. Really, I was hoping that the would kill him off because I absolutely despise the role he has now. Oh Well. We will see what happens.
Ok. Thats where we stand now. Here go some little reactions from the finale.
Jack finally got some kills! Wow! This is 24. I was starting to get a little scared. Handcuffed, he wriggles out of the restraints, picks up a knife, slits a throat, break a neck, and stabs another. Straight Up Crazy! Thats the Jack I know.
So the whole time Tony was in it for revenge for Michelle Desslers murder? Thats a little ridiculous. I think Jack put it best. Michelle would hate Tony for what he has done. He killed way to many people just to get face to face with one person. Thats just too much Tony. Come on, man. Lets be real.
What was the deal with that Mosque leader guy visiting Jack. Apparently, Jack called him and told him to come. I guess Jack felt really bad about the way he went busting in there accusing Jibran of terrorist plans which he was not making. I think Jack knew how much prejudice the
Muslim community faces and his accusations did not help that.
YES! OLIVIA TAYLOR GOES DOWN! haha! I knew this moment would come. She pays for what she has done. Justice has been served. And who better to come down on her then her mother. I was clapping and cheering when Pres Taylor started defending her decision! Well Pres Taylor has lost her entire family. Her son is dead. Her daughter is a criminal. Her husband wants nothing to do with her. And she is the President of the United States. Tough job? The way her and Ethan Kanin were talking kind of suggests that there used to be something else there.
Rating and Statistics!
Rating: 5 Stars. It was the season finale of 24! Everything I expected. Even though there was the cliffhanger ending which is something I dont like, the show did exactly what it wanted to do. I cannot wait until next season. That is exactly what the makers of 24 and FOX wanted to hear.
Jack Bauer Kill Count: 28 Kills! Final; Season 7
3 Kills this episode puts Jack at 28 for the year. And thats final. I'm not sure whether or not that is a record low, but it has to be pretty close. Even though this stat is the truth, Season 7 was still a great Success.
----------------
Well that will do it for Season 7 of 24. It has been a great season full of suspense, action, and conspiracy. Great Season. I cant wait to see how this all plays out.
All that is left now is the Highlight of this week then thats it. Season 7 comes to an end and Season 8 will hopefully start sometime soon. What I know so far is that Season 8 will be set six weeks after Season 7 and will take place in New York City. Should be great. Should be fun. The blog will be returning for Season 8 in its entirety.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 22

Simply Put: 24 At Its Finest.

------------------------------------

This is 24! This is what I'm talking about! What an episode! There is no way I can wait a whole week for the 2 hour Season finale!

The scene where Jack gets on Jibran's COM was suspense at it finest. I was locked in at this point. Jibran is scrambling around scared for his life and his brother's. When opens up the bag and sees 1:20 and counting you knew it was about to go down. I was thought he was clear sailing when he made it to the top of the escalator, but then the security! That was some quick and smart thinking. His screaming of BOMB BOMB clear his way to outside. Then its J. Bauer to the rescue.

How about Jibran's luck when he first enters the subway. He gathers the strength and courage to tell the authorities only to find out that the authority was an impostor. "Put the earpiece back in." That surprised me. I was definitely not expected that.

Jack had to put the bullet in Tony's head when he had the chance. Now he finds himself in another impossible predicament. The usual: Help us or we kill your family. Again the question isn't will Jack find a way out of this, the question is how.

I told you Ethan Kanin was coming back. I certainly expected it to be sooner, but I knew it was going to happen. Jonas wants to listen to what Olivia has been saying, but Kanin's fingerprint is the only thing that can make that happen. Kanin wants to help because he would love to see Olivia go down. Well thats one thing Kanin and I have in common.

This whole Chloe and Janis feud is getting heated. As much as I want to see Chloe reign supreme, I like the way Janis will not back down. She demanding some respect and rightfully so. She was like "I fixed it, you didnt, so cut me some slack" or something like that.

Rating:

5 Stars! Easy decision I ever made! Certainly has to rank top 5 of all time! Contained everything! When someone thinks of 24, this is the type of episode they think of. Stellar work all around by the 24 crew. Even my man Sean Callery. He did a great job with the music to add to the suspense.

0 Kills for Jack. Who cares. Best episode ever with no kills from Jack.

Next week, its over. The season finale. 2 hours of heart stopping 24. Are you ready for this? This is going to be good. Really good. Monday May 18, 8/7c on FOX.

Highlight of the Week (21)

Did they really need to blow the car up like four times? He had to have been blown to pieces by the end of that massive explosion. Wow. They had to kill him off eventually. "Guest Appearance" stars don't usually continue from one season to the next. Oh Well. Bye bye Hodges.

Keifer Sutherland Talks Season 8

In a recent interview with ITN, Keifer Sutherland discussed quick details concerning Season 8 of 24.

Thats right. He said that the ending of Season 7 will have a direct impact on Season 8. I have been hearing that Season 8 will be set 6 weeks after Season 7 and will take place in New York City. Of course Keifer isn't giving anything away in this video, but I am almost certain that 24 will not end without Jack dying. It has to happen.

Anyway, I am definitely pumped for a season set in the Big Apple, but I am definitely not pumped for a cliffhanger season finale. I always loved the way the first 5 seasons ended with the problem being resolved. One problem I had with season 6 was that we were left with a cliffhanger. Literally. It ended with Jack standing over the edge of a cliff.

Scenes From The Next Episode (22)

Pull it Jack. Put Tony away! Lets hope Jack pulls the trigger this Monday. 9/8c on FOX.

The Following Takes Place Between 4:00AM and 5:00AM

Updates In Real-Time:
4:00AM - 4:13AM

  • Tony's crew work on the framing of the Pakistan man at his house.
  • Chloe is notified that Jack is infected with the bio weapon. But Jack tells her to keep strong and that they have to put an end to the terrorism.
  • The Police arrive at the house where Tony is, but Tony makes Jibran cover for them. Jibran continues to read the prompt that Tony has written.

4:17AM - 4:24AM

  • Chloe finds a lead on her computer and its Jibran. Jack and Renee head off to talk to someone who has a relation with Jibran.
  • Olivia meets with that guy she talked to on the phone. She tells him that Hodges is really responsible for everything. The man agrees to find a hitman to murder Hodges for Olivia.
  • FBI gives Hodges the information for his Witness Protection. He flips.

4:28AM -4:35AM

  • Jack and Renee arrive at Jibran's worship place and talk to the man there to see if he knows him. He does. Janis gets the address of Jibran for Renee. Jack detains the man so "he cant call Jibran before they get there."
  • Tony tells Jibran to lie to his brother about whats going on. He has to tell him that he is a terrorist.

4:40AM -4:49AM

  • Olivia talks to the Hitman and he asks for the funds to be transferred, then he will proceed. Olivia the Coward gets to the final page of the transfer and hits cancel.
  • Chloe notifies Renee and Jack that Jibran is being set up.
  • The car the Hodges is in explodes! Gone. Hodges is done! We dont exactly know how or why, but he's beat! There is no way he survived that.

4:53AM -5:00AM

  • Pres is notified about Hodges's death. They suspect an inside job.
  • Olivia panics and calls her contact. She says important info about her involvement over the phone.
  • Jack and FBI get ready to advance on the scene. The brother stabs the terrorist holding him hostage.
  • It looks like Tony will be using the Subway to unleash his weapon.

-------------------------------

Well, it was nice knowing you Hodges. Jonas Hodges is now done. Burnt. Exploded. Gone. Jon Voight did add a nice element to the plot. His character's unpredictability kept the show suspenseful. He fulfilled his purpose and now Hodges is no more.

Wow Olivia Taylor. She felt so strongly about how she wanted Hodges dead, until she actually has to press the button on it. She gets all the way to the wire transfer screen where she can either press Cancel or Execute. Of Course, she cowers out and hits cancel. I'm glad it got done anyway. I hope this gets traced back to her and she gets tossed in prison right along with Tony.

You gotta feel for this Jibran guy. I mean just hours ago, he was saying how it is not a good day to be a Muslim in America, and now he is being framed for terrorist activity for no other reason than because he's Muslim. Then he has to go lie to his brother who trust him so much and tell him that he is a terrorist. Poor dude. That was some good acting by Jibran during their little conversation.

At the end of the episode Tony is in a van and he is looking at a live feed of the subway. He asks if the subway is still on schedule. It looks like the subway will be the target of the bio weapon. Sounds alot like the Syntox Nerve Gas from Season 5 to me. Great Season by the way.

Rating

4 Stars - I gotta be real with 24 tonight. I was expected something much more tonight. I was ready for one of those episodes that you wanna re-watch immediately and tonight's just wasn't one of them. Not to say that this episode was bad. None of them ever are. I was just expecting more tonight.

There is no reason to have a statistics category anymore. Seriously. You would have to go into the blog archives to find the last time I talked about a kill by Jack. In fact. Jack's last kill was at approximately 10:45PM. It is now 5:00AM. Need I say anymore?

Highlight of the Week: Episode 20

GO WHINE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

We are used to hearing Jack yell and scream, but not usually out of frustration. Usually, he is yelling to intimidate some terrorist and to get him to give up important info. This time, he absolutely unloads on Janis, someone he is supposed to be working with. This is some crazy stuff right here. And to make it even better, David Palmer gets a little spot in there.

From a Different Perspective...

Recently, I recieved a review this current Season 7 from an ouside source.I figured this would be perfect to put in a post because its always good to have someone else perspective every once in a while. Anyway, here it is. Written by Chris Lewis.

24 Season 7 Review
By: Chris Lewis

This season of 24 has been phenomenal. Season 7 has had the action and twists that that has made this show widely popular. Even if you expect the unexpected, you are still left with your jaw on the floor by the end of the end of the episode. Last week was no exception.

It is now confirmed that Tony Almeida is evil. For some reason, the fact that he has turned to the anti-American Government side makes me angry. Almeida is the only active character, besides Jack Bauer, that was there in season 1, and although he was absent in season 6, I have always been a huge fan. I liked his cool style, and they way he used to run CTU. You could see his development as a CTU member, from the days he was a rival of Jack, to the times where he made crucial decisions that broke laws just because he trusted Jack’s judgment. I feel that some of the best moments from this season have come when Jack and Tony were a tag team leading the road CTU with Chloe O’Brian and Bill Buchanan. I would have been much more satisfied if the remaining CTU members remained an unbreakable team, instead of having the inevitable, fateful showdown between Jack and Tony. Since Jack has already signed up for season 8, I’ll leave it to you to guess which one remains alive.

However, Jack Bauer has his own issue that has to be resolved, his heath. We know that Jack won’t die from the bio weapon poisoning, but the question is, how will he find a way to escape this? Although he is on the brink of a meltdown, and seemingly withering away, you know that someone will find a miracle cure. Will Kim Bauer come back and use her DNA for a cure? Will her new baby daughter play a role? Jack has always found a way to save the country, now he has to find a way to save himself.

I will be enjoying the final few episodes with everyone else. I just realize that I won’t get the ending that I want. Either Jack, or Tony is going down, and that is not the way it should be. Those two should have always been on the same side.

The Following Takes Palce Between 3:00AM and 4:00AM

Updates in Real Time

3:00AM - 3:12AM

  • Jack infroms Renee that Tony is working with Galvez.
  • Renee orders FBI to stop Tony, but Tony kills two agents then drives of in an FBI SUV.
  • Jack decides he has to inform the Pres before its too late. She tell Jack that Hodges is still alive. Jack knows he has to question Hodges and Taylor agrees.
  • Tony meets up with Galvez at a local motel. Glavez asks for money in exchange for the canister. Galvez pulls a gun on Tony, but Tony fights off Galvez and gains control of him.
  • Some lady who has the canister comes to visit Tony . Tony insists that they "finish the job off''.

3:15:AM - 3:22AM

  • Pres Taylor authorizes a Witness Protection Program for Jonas Hodges. Olivia disagrees as usual...Taylor lays down the law and defends her descision. For the first time she treat Olivia like a professional, not a daughter.
  • The lady who met Tony discusses an operation to frame someone else for the attack with a a group of voice disguised people. They all vote on something and they all voted yes.

3: 26AM - 3:37AM

  • Jack goes in to tell Hodges the deal that the Pres has made. Important info for his death certificate. Hodges tells Jack that he was part small group to prove that the government cant protect the people. Hodges says he doesn't know who he was working with.
  • Jack says that an attack with the bioweapon may be soon. He says CTU servers would be needed.
  • Chloe's Back! Jack tells her what happened to Bill and why she is needed. Chloe agrees to help.

  • Jack EXPLODES on Janis for complaining about CTU. He messes up and calls Pres Taylor, Pres Palmer.
  • The two brothers in the house get ambushed by Tony and his crew. They grab the one the were looking for and tell him to keep quiet at gunpoint.

------------------------------------------

Jack absolutely ripped Janis. He flipped on her for her crankiness toward CTU and I guess this made him think about David Palmer because he screamed his name in place of the presidents in his rampage.

To tell you the truth, I was actually rooting for Galvez to pull the trigger when he pulled the gun on Tony. Tony Almeida used to be one of my favorite characters. He was just so cool about everything. Not anymore. Once again, I dont like seeing Tony driving the terrorist action.

Its hard for me to decipher whether Olivia Taylor is actually opposed to her mothers decision to put Hodges in witness protection. I dont know whether she is trying to cover something up or whether she really does care.

Did I see Chloe O'Brien in this episode? I think I did. Long time no see. She and Janis even had their seemingly inevitable argument over Chloe "taking her cookies". Whenever Chloe comes along, Janis can just step aside cause anything she can do, Chloe can do better.

Unlike most terrorists actions, Tony and his group want to make sure that nobody ever knows about their involvment in it. We will see exactly how they will frame that man for this attack. We know they choose him because he has a possible motive though. Poor dude.

Ratings & Statistics

Rating: 4 Stars - The final set up episode of Season 7. The several highlights that this episode included such as Jack's explosion kept it going. Form here on out, you can consider it the home stretch. Only 4 more episodes left.

Jack: 25 Kills - No Comment.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 19

Something like this would never happen in the early seasons of this show. I remember when Jack invincible in every sense of the word. Thats not the case anymore. Although it is sort of disappointing, it adds another unpredictable element to the show. I like it.

  • Galvez kills the EMT guy in the ambulance and tells the driver that he is driving.

-------------------------------------

Tony Almeida is a bad man. I dont care if you think he is going to stop this in the end or whether he is doing the same type of mission he was doing at the beginning of the season, he is a bad dude. He is aiding the killing of FBI agents. Not cool dude.

Anyway, who would have thought way back when Tony and Jack were inseparable that Tony would one day keep the medicine from Jack when he is having a seizure. Tony knew Jack was onto him. Thats why he snagged his meds. He was just hoping that Jack would fall from the bioweapon before he figured out that Tony was involved. Ironically, they happened at the same time. As soon as Jack had the gun on Tony and was ready to bust him, he begins to have a seizure again. He reaches for his meds, but no luck, they arent there. Great acting again by my man Keifer.

At FBI dont you have some kind of secret speaking code that no outsiders know? It seemed kind of easy for Galvez to lure FBI to the apartment. He killed the FBI guy, stuck some kind of knife in the radio and began calling in orders to Walker. Too easy. I understand that Galvez was Starkwood, but still. They arent any confirmation codes and what knot?

Jonas Hodges gets the ultimate ultimatum! Kill yourself or I will kill your family. That "lawyer" gave him what appeared to be the red pill of death. Although Hodges swallowed it, he obviously doesn't die instantly because there he was in "scenes".

I dont know if anyone else noticed this but it was quite a coincidence that in the first scene, they used a look-a-like to impersonate that lawyer. Today, Monday, is National Look-a-Like Day. Thats pretty crazy if the writers planned for this episode to air on National Look-a-like Day. I doubt it, but it could happen.

There are plenty of things that come to mind when I hear the name Jack Bauer. CTU agent, Sharpshooter, Rebel, Screamer, Torturer, Killer, Boss, but Grandaddy is definitely not one of them. I dont know, but it kinda makes Jack sound not as BAD as he really is. And Kim Bauer naming the baby girl after the late Terri Bauer. But Jack has no idea about all of this. I guess what he don't know can't hurt him.

Ratings and Statistics

Rating: 5 Stars! Perfect mix of suspense, dialogue, action, and greatness! Captivating climax and a crazy cliffhanger. Gotta hand it to the 24 team. Great job!

Jack Bauer: 0 Kills (this is getting old) 25 Kills on the season. I ought to start a seizure count.

Scenes From The Next Episode (19)

Episode 19 - This Monday 9/8c on FOX.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 18

Its Tony gone bad (again). I wonder how this will go down. The threat is not over. The threat has just began. Sounds like something Hodges would say.

In Case You Missed It...

Here is the latest Episode if you missed it. 1:00AM - 2:00AM. The return of Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert). This was hour 18. Only 6 more left. Thats right 6! Epsidode 19 (2:00AM - 3:00AM) airs This Monday 9/8c on FOX.

Monday, April 13, 2009

The Following Takes Place Between 1:00AM and 2:00AM

1:00AM - 1:12AM

  • Tony spots the truck pull up to pump the RP-7 into the missile launching area.
  • Jack and Renee convince the Pres to say yes without actually saying yes to the FBI operation.
  • Hodges arrives at the White House to talk to President Taylor
  • Tony gains access into the underground missile area.

1:17AM - 1:27AM

  • Hodges and Greg sit down w/ the pres to blackmail her to get partnership.
  • Meanwhile, Tony manages to blow up the missiles seconds before launch after some trouble.
  • Pres. Taylor is informed of this then put Hodges under arrest. Hodges says that she is dealing with something much bigger though.

1:31AM - 1:38AM

  • Jack completely forgets what he was talking about when he was talking to the pres. He asks her to consider Tony's actions to save lives before he goes to jail for his previous actions.
  • Kim Bauer is supposed to be waiting at FBI to see Jack. Jack basically breaks down when he hears this info.

1:41AM - 1:50AM

  • Jack meets Kim, but wont allow her to help him out. Jack begs for Kim to leave.
  • A terrorist with a canister of the bioweapon kills two FBI agents then attempts to escape in the FBI SUV.

1:54AM - 2:00AM

  • Tony and Larry converge on the guy with the canister. Larry is shot, then Tony suffocates him to kill him.
  • Tony appears to be in on this mission and he tells the guy to run and hide while the FBI comes.
  • I guess Larry wasn't important enough for the silent tick...

-----------------------------

Come on Tony! Bad guy again? I was starting to get used to Tony on the side of the law again. Well, there goes that. He's a traitor again. It looks like he is trying to cover it up this time, though. By watching the scenes from the next episode, it appears that Tony is going to stay with the FBI as well.

Whats up with Jack not letting Kim help even after she is there. I guess I can understand Jack not wanting to drag her into this, but after she is already there? She wants to help and she is willing to take the risk. I don't get it. No worries though. It looks like Jack will be back in action by next episode.

How about Hodges and Greg walking into the White House with this whole book with their demands laid out. Usually, that doesn't work here. When is the last time you heard of somebody having their lengthy demands met the the President of the United States? There ya go Hodges. President Taylor was just buying time for Tony to blow your whole operation.

What could Tony's motive be? My only explanation is that he thinks he is going to spend major jail time and he trying to get out of it. Though it seemed like Tony had accepted the consequences for what he had done in the past.

Rating: 4 Stars - Had a nice end twist, but only two plot lines. They are usually at least 3. I don't know what happened there, but the ones they had were great.

Stats: None. No Kills for Jack (again) Good News- In scenes they showed him with a gun. 25 Kills so far

Highlight of the Week: Episode 17

Almeida looks like a place kicker when he delivers that blow right to the dude's forehead! That was only after he snapped the other guy's neck. Way to step up Tony!

The Following Takes Place Between 12:00AM and 1:00AM

Can't shake Hodges huh, President Taylor. This guy seems to have the answers for everything. Taylor says , "You are in no position to be making ultimatums!" You wanna bet? Hodges had her scurrying about The White House begging the military to terminate the attack on Starkwood.

How about Larry Moss taking one for the team at the beginning of the hour. He took the back of a gun to the mouth so Tony could get out of there unnoticed. Seems as though someone is starting to gain a little bit of trust in Jack. Too bad it had to take Jack exposing himself to the bioweapon to earn it.

Speaking of Jack, he has been looking incredibly weak after being exposed. He is constantly shaking and even fell out on the floor and began to have a seizure. Keifer Sutherland did an awesome job acting out that seizure. I thought his eyes were about to pop out of his head for real. That was good. I also gotta give it up the writers for being able to produce great episode while having Jack on the sidelines. They are actually keeping Jack at his disadvantage instead of coming up with some miraculous way of him overcoming it.

With Jack out of the lead action role, somebody had to step up. Who better than Tony Almeida. Most impressive was his takedown of the two Starkwood men. He swung himself around that concrete pillar, kicked one of them in the back of the head while breaking the other's neck. I hear they used to teach that stuff at CTU.

It appears to me that Jonas Hodges isn't as much as a rock I once thought he was. He undoubtedly lost it under pressure. Out of nowhere he began pounding Knowles over the head and on the back with that glass bottle. Just relentless pounding. And just when you thought Hodges got himself under control, he launches him over the balcony sending him plummeting to his death. Wow. That's the kind of guy you wanna stay away from when he's in a bad mood.

Rating and Statistics

Rating: 4.5 Stars - Very good episode. Contained all of the elements that you expect in 24.

Statistics: This makes 2 consecutive episodes with no kills for Jack. Excitement does not lack, however. J. Bauer still with 25 on the season.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 16

I love the scenes where the feds get overpowered. It makes the people who we usually see in charge and calling the shots at the mercy of the "bad guys". As a matter of fact, if i didn't know any better, I would have thought the terrorists were the authorities and Larry's little crew were the terrorists. They didn't know what they got themselves into when the terrorist come rolling in with the big tanks and semi-automatics. This is a great cliffhanger. Cant wait to see how this one goes down.

Keifer Sutherland Says He's On For Season 8

According to an article released by the Associated Press, Sutherland says that he is a go for an eighth season of 24, but the pressure isn't on him. It is on the writers he says. Sutherland states, "The real pressure is placed on the writers. It's a real question about how much they feel they can give and what they can do." He's got a very valid point there. In order for the show to be successful for another year, the writers have to come up with a plot line that hasn't already been done before, but also lives up to the standard that they have set for themselves. While this task might not be easy, believe me when I say it will be done. With the amount of people who watch this show every Monday, and have done so for a long period of time, they will not let a new season go to waste. Especially if more Jack Bauer is promised.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised that 24 was even contemplating continuing without Keifer if he were to pass up on an eighth season. No hard feelings to everybody who has anything to do with this show, but Keifer Sutherland IS 24.

LETS GO! Tey are all going to be good from here on out. Every Monday at 9/8c.

Episode 16: The Following Takes Place Between 11:00PM and 12:00AM

Real Time Updates:

11:00PM - 11:14PM

  • Jack gets checked out by the Bio Hazard squad to see what the deal is with his exposure.
  • Starkwood successfully recover their bio-weapon.
  • They also attempt to get information about FBI out of Tony, but he doesn't give in.
  • Pres Taylor appoints almighty Olivia to provisional Chief of Staff moments before they gain intel about the imminent attack.

11:17PM - 11:26PM

  • Olivia Taylor basically forces Aaron Pierce to un-retire and be on her squad.
  • Pres meets with the joint chiefs and they see no good options so far.
  • The guy is about to kill Tony when Greg walks in the doorway and shoots him dead. Tony and Greg set out to discover the weapon.
  • Jack receives with blood test results. 24 tries to leave us hanging as to wether he is OK or not. Like we dont already know.

11:30PM - 11:36PM

  • A 24 curveball. Its not contagious, but he is infected. Thats a new one. Jack gets debriefed by Renee
  • Tony and Greg are on the move. They call up FBI to ask for Greg immunity in exchange for the location of the bioweapon.

11:40PM - 11:46PM

  • Pres T grants Greg Seten's immunity and he explains where the weapon is. She authorizes the invasion of Starkwood.
  • Jack come in and begs Agent Moss for him to let him tang alon, but Moss denies Jack. Jack then realizes that he is not fit to go out in the field. He walks away with his head down.

11:51PM - 12:00AM

  • Moss and his men move in on Starkwood. It appears they have been duped by Seten because the weapons are nowhere to be found.
  • Starkwood then closes in on FBI threatening them to stand down or prepare to be shot at by their abundance of men.

--------------------------

"If your men advance any further, they will be fired upon." The best moments in 24 are those when the government comes face to face with and is overpowered by terrorists. This going to be like when the terrorists took over CTU in season 6.

Looks like Jack has been shut down at least for one episode. It is always impressive when someone can stop Jack from going berserk on their men. He is now infected with the crazy bioweapon. If the video that Pres Taylor was watching from Sengala was any indication, it's not gonna be pretty. It appears as though Jack will go down next ep from watching "scenes".

FBI: You guys got took by this Greg character. Although it looks bad, I can't blame them. The dude killed one of his allies to free Tony Almeida. I would consider that enough to consider his info to be legit as well.

I'm anxious to see how this whole Aaron Pierce situation will play out. Pierce is a longtime character in this show and he seems to be one of those people who is respected by everyone. That is until big bad Olivia Taylor came along. She is officially the one character that I absolutely can not stand. She is way too conceited and, from what I can tell, for no reason. Someone needs to put her in her place.

Rating and Statistics:

Rating: 4 Stars - a set up episode that includes unpredictable twists. A great cliffhanger as well. Minimal action, but not too much action is expected from a set up episode.

Jack Bauer Kill Count: 25

Episode 16: 0 Kills.

No Kills for Jack this hour. Something tells me he will make up for that in the near future.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Highlight of the Week: Episode 15

Tony: "Your gonna trun the surveillance job into a fire fight. It'll be Two against ten."

Jack: "Two against nine."

One of the few moments in 24 that made me laugh. Tony knows that he wont be able to dissaude Jack from saving the PA Officer, but he tries anyway. It appears for a second that it might have worked until a shot is fired and the PA Officer isn't dead. Just a prime example as to why Jack should never make any promises. It could have cost thousands of lives.

Scenes From The Next Episode

Scenes from Episode 16 : 11:00PM - 12:00AM

Looks like another exciting one. Check it out. Monday 9/8c on FOX

Monday, March 23, 2009

Episode 15: The Following Takes Place Between 10:00P.M. and 11:00P.M.

10:00P.M. - 10:13P.M.

  • Ethan believes that it his fault that Senator Mayer is dead, and asks for President Taylor to accept his resignation.
  • Madame Pres talks to the First Gentleman and he is expected to make a full recovery
  • Jack and Tony arrive at the Port and begin their attempt to attain the bio-weapon.

10:16PM - 10:25PM

  • Starkwood is introduced as an undercover military group.
  • Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight) is working with Greg in his work with the terrorists.
  • The Port Authority officer is going to have to let the terrorists in the Port while Jack and Tony wait to move in.
  • It's about to get ugly.

10:29PM - 10:34PM

  • Port Authority Officer Carl opens the gate for the pickup. The lead man makes him get in the truck with his men. He's beat.
  • Olivia leaks more information about the White House activity. She has some kind of deal with a news producer. She wants to make sure that all the blame goes on Ethan, not the President, and that she is not identified as the source of this info.

10:39PM - 10:49PM

  • After the terrorists are finished with Carl, they go on to kill him, but before that, Jack intervenes and saves Carl.
  • This causes them to engage in a firefight and takeover the truck. Tony keeps cover while Jack takes over the truck.
  • After Jack gets the truck, Tony is spotted and surrenders. The men recognize Tony as one of Emerson's crew and they know that Jack must be with him. Jack has to decide to trun back and save him, or to keep going with the mission.

10:54PM - 11:00PM

  • Jack alerts Agent Moss about the bio-weapon.
  • Jack has to stop because he realizes that one of the canisters has been breached. He goes in to fixed this and as an affect is exposed to the hazardous gas.
  • Before FBI can reach Jack and the truck, the terrorists reach him, and with the help of the helicopter, recover the weapon.
  • We are left off with Jack telling Moss that he has been exposed to the bio-weapon.

--------------

So Jack is exposed to some sort of biological weapon. We are left trying to figure out what tragic effect this will have on Jack without him dying because we all know thats not gonna happen. Anyway, Jack can't seem to have all of his "friends" at once. When Tony is on his side, Agent Moss orders his men to shoot on sight. When Jack earns Larry's trust, Tony is taken hostage.

Olivia Taylor is Cold-Blooded. She doesn't care who she betrays, or who's life she ruins, as long as she get her way, she simply doesn't care. Jeapordizing her own mother's administration just for her own benefit is just wrong. And its angers me how President Taylor is too oblivious and sympathetic to realize it.

Jack should never promise anyone anything ever again. Every time he promises to keep someone safe, it comes right back to bite him and he ends up risking his mission to save them. That's enough Jack, like Tony said, you knew he was dead as soon as he walked out that door.

Ethan Kanin has resigned, but he has developed into too much of a prominent role to have him gone forever. I give it about 3 episodes before we see Ethan again.

**This might be one of the most careless mistakes we have seen in 24. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but during the "Previously On 24" segment of tonight's episode, they showed John Quinn saying the following before he died: "You're too late. They are already here." But in the original episode, aired 3/16, Quinn only said, "They are already here." The mistake was minor and had no affect on the actual plot, but to me seemed very careless. If I can notice that after only seeing it once, the producer of the show should catch it considering its their job.

Rating and Statistics

Rating: 4 Stars. New problem is introduced along with action and several twists. Not quite as good as last week though.

Jack Bauer Kill Count

Episode 15: 3 Kills

Season 7: 25 Kills

Character Deceased 10PM to 11PM: 3 unnamed terrorists

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Highlight of the Week: Episode 14

As if you didn't already know what is would be...Here it is:

Simply Incredible. The best part was how Jack rips the screwdriver out of Quinn's chest, and with blood dripping from it, sticks it into the ignition of the truck to start it. Then, as if he already didn't show us who's boss, he rams the truck thru the fence just to be sure.

I only have one question about this clip and that is: What happened to Quinn's gun? When Jack knocked him off of the roof, his gun was still up there, right? Why didn't Jack just pick up his gun and shoot him? I guess Jack figured that was too easy and wanted to kill him the old-fashioned way instead.

Jack Bauer Kill #22 / Scenes From The Next Episode

Kill No.: 22
Dead: John Quinn
One of the most impressive kills thus far for Jack. After a long struggle he threw a screwdriver that penetrated his bulletproof vest and got stuck in his chest.
-------------
Episode 15: 10:00P.M. to 11:00P.M. is Mon, March 23 at 9/8c on FOX. This should be another good one. Scenes from the next episode:

Monday, March 16, 2009

Episode 14: The Following Takes Place Between 9:00P.M. and 10:00P.M.

During the commercial breaks, I will discuss what happens to serve as a quick summary of the episode:

9:00PM - 9:11PM:

  • Jack flees the hospital

  • Morris wants to know where Chloe is

  • Quinn is connected to Senator Mayer

  • Jack contacts Renee and Agent Moss knows he can use her to locate Bauer

9:15PM - 9:25PM:

  • President Taylor agrees to implement Olivia's suggestion into her speech

  • Larry Moss asks Renee for Jack's location, but she wont give it up. Moss put her in holding.

  • Jack breaks into Mayer's house in an attempt to access his files concerning Starkwood and its connection to Juma.

9:29PM - 9:36PM

  • Ethan accuses Olivia of leaking info to the press about Ethan's authorization of the interrogation of Burnett.

  • Janis can't encrypt the data that Renee sent Jack, but Morris can. Agent Moss agrees to grant Chloe immunity of her charges if he can decrypt the file. Janis says the file is encrypted with "Blowfish 148" (whatever that is), but Morris could do it anyway. The address of Senator Mayer comes up and Moss scrambles a team to that location.

9:40PM - 9:48PM

  • Chloe is released from holding and is upset with Morris for releasing Jack's location.

  • Jack and Senator Mayer talk about past regrets and intentions. Jack discovers that Starkwood was involved in Juma's development of a bio-weapon. As soon as Jack begins to uncover important info. There is a knock at the door claiming they are Metro PD. Mayer opens the door to find Quinn with a gun pointed right at him. Quinn kills Mayer then proceeds to chase Jack who barely escapes with the help of the approaching police cars.

9:53PM - 10:00PM

  • Olivia is able to prove to Madame Prez that she was not the one who release the info and she manage to convince her source to bury the story

  • Moss and his team arrive at Mayer's house to find Mayer murdered. Moss immediately jumps to the conclusion that this is the work of Jack Bauer, and orders his men to "shoot on sight".

  • Quinn eventually finds Jack, but Jack manages to lure him into a little house where Jack is waiting to flip over the house with a tractor. From there, they engage in a classic all out brawl with out guns. Jack is able to get a hold of a screwdriver which he hurls at Quinn and lodges it in his chest before he smashes him over the head with a block of wood. With his dying breath, Quinn manages to tell Jack that the bio-weapon has already arrived in the US. Jack then calls up Tony Almeida and tell him to bring weapons and a surveillance kit and to meet him at a specific location.

-----------------

Episodes like this make me wonder how I survived that extra long period in between seasons 6 and 7. Wow. The return of Morris, the uncovering of a new terrorist plot, a cold blooded assassination, and a classic Jack Bauer moment.

As soon as we thought Jack Bauer had used every resource in the world, he uses a tractor. A tractor! He knocked over the over that Quinn was in, then proceeded to leap from the tractor onto him and to bash his face in. As with most of these "brawls" Jack struggles for a splits second, but ultimately prevails. This time, with a screwdriver and a block of wood. This, more than anything, reminded me of Jack's crazy execution of Fayed back in Season 6.

24 knows when to introduce and re-introduce characters. As soon as people began to wonder where Tony has been, they stick him right in there as a cliffhanger for next week.

Renee again placed more faith in Jack this hour in refusing to give up information that she has on Jack. I sense another Chloe type of character forming. Someone who trusts Jack no matter what and will do anything to help him. Renee is not at that status yet, but she is well on her way.

Agent Moss now has the FBI along with many other agencies in pursuit of Jack with orders to shoot on sight. This basically means Jack will do take extreme measures stay stealth and to intercept this bio-weapon because he knows that if he is seen by FBI, this attack will not be stopped.

From the "scenes from the next episode", we know that Ethan Kanin will ask for his resignation. We will find out what sparks this and how it goes down.

Rating and Statistics

Rating: 4.5 Stars out of 5 - The beginning of the episode was mediocre, but the ending was absolutely incredible. Just misses a perfect 5 out of 5.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 13

Here's the deal. Every week I will select a highlight from the latest episode. At the end of the season I will create a post with all the highlights from the season on it and from them, a Highlight of Season 7 will be selected.

Here is this week's highlight:

"They're done talking to you. Thats why they sent me"

Well this one starts out with Agent Moss putting his hand on Jack's chest and telling him what he can and can't do (never works) and Jack just gives him a look like, "You might wanna take your hands off of me, buddy."

The look on Burnett's face when he sees Jack is priceless. You know you're bad all takes is for somebody to see you to become frozen with fear. I think its pretty funny how nervous Jack can make someone without even touching them.

BTW, why does that Quinn guy look just like Chef Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen?

First Post; Let's Get Caught Up

Well with this blog just starting and Season 7 already in progress, let me do a list of some things we know so far:

  1. The show is set in Washington D.C. this year instead of the usual location of Los Angeles, CA. The President this time is the nation's first female President, President Taylor.

  2. Colonel Dubaku* and his "crew" created some kind of universal override mechanism called the CIP Device that gives him the ability to cause havoc such as hack into air traffic control and release poisonous gas in power plants. This is exactly what Dubaku does until Jack Bauer and his ragtag "CTU" consisting of Bill Buchanan*, Chloe O'Brien, and Tony Almeida bust in on Dubaku's headquarters and seize the CIP Device. Of course, Dubaku finds away to escape.

  3. The whole basis and motive of these terrorist attacks goes a little something like this. General Juma* of Sengala and his troops kidnap kids in Sengala and train them to become soldiers. The prime minister of Sengala, Matobo urges President Taylor to intervene and Sengala and restore the peace in his country. Madame President has to decide whether to send US troops into Sengala and risks more attack by Juma*, Dubaku*, and their men, or to ignore Matobo pleads and do nothing about the crisis in Sengala.

  4. Basically from there, Dubaku* tries a couple more attacks and ultimatums, but in the end, they all fail eventually resulting in Dubaku attempting to flee the US. This attempt fails and he is captured, and eventually killed by Juma's men to prevent him from releasing important information.

  5. At this point, General Juma is tired of his men failing in attempts to scare off the US and decides to take matters into his own hands. He gathers up a group of his fully strapped and loaded men and, with the help of an inside man, bust into the White House. They barrel down several corridors lighting up anybody and everybody in their path in an attempt to find Madame Prez. Jack, who is supposed to be in a holding room, gets let out by Bill* once they realize that The White House is under attack. Bill* says something along the lines of 'you're just too good to be locked up during this' hands him a handgun and they begin to try to get President Taylor to safety. Eventually Jack and President Taylor manage to get themselves into a locked impenetrable safe-room while everybody else in the House is being held hostage. Juma* gains knowledge that the President's daughter, Olivia is hiding somewhere in the White House from his outside source of John Voight's character. Juma* effectively threatens to torture Olivia to draw President Taylor and Jack out of the safe-room. Juma* forces the Prez to read a letter that he wrote over a live internet feed and to ultimately, stage a live execution of the President of the United States. Jack and Bill wont let this happen and Bill decides to take his own live to cause a distraction while Jack mows everybody down with his pistol. After all the chaos that resulted from this, Madame President is safe, The White House is stabilized, and Bill Buchanan* is dead. This caused Jack to show one of his rare glimpses of emotion which is quickly terminated due to the realization that this threat might not be over. Jack is sent to question Ryan Burnett* in hope to gain info about a next attack, but is ambushed by a man who kills Burnett and frames Jack for the murder. Jack, knowing that he can't be in the room when Agent Moss gets there, flees. Jack then calls up Moss explaining to him what really happened in the room.

That is basically where we are at now. I know many details have been left out, but this was sort of just a mind refresher. So far, I think Season 7 has been the best season yet. They have gone all out with many twists and exciting cliffhangers. Episode 14: 9:00PM - 10:00PM is Mon March 18 at 9/8c. Stay tuned for scenes from the next episode:
