Episode 16: The Following Takes Place Between 11:00PM and 12:00AM

Real Time Updates:

11:00PM - 11:14PM

  • Jack gets checked out by the Bio Hazard squad to see what the deal is with his exposure.
  • Starkwood successfully recover their bio-weapon.
  • They also attempt to get information about FBI out of Tony, but he doesn't give in.
  • Pres Taylor appoints almighty Olivia to provisional Chief of Staff moments before they gain intel about the imminent attack.

11:17PM - 11:26PM

  • Olivia Taylor basically forces Aaron Pierce to un-retire and be on her squad.
  • Pres meets with the joint chiefs and they see no good options so far.
  • The guy is about to kill Tony when Greg walks in the doorway and shoots him dead. Tony and Greg set out to discover the weapon.
  • Jack receives with blood test results. 24 tries to leave us hanging as to wether he is OK or not. Like we dont already know.

11:30PM - 11:36PM

  • A 24 curveball. Its not contagious, but he is infected. Thats a new one. Jack gets debriefed by Renee
  • Tony and Greg are on the move. They call up FBI to ask for Greg immunity in exchange for the location of the bioweapon.

11:40PM - 11:46PM

  • Pres T grants Greg Seten's immunity and he explains where the weapon is. She authorizes the invasion of Starkwood.
  • Jack come in and begs Agent Moss for him to let him tang alon, but Moss denies Jack. Jack then realizes that he is not fit to go out in the field. He walks away with his head down.

11:51PM - 12:00AM

  • Moss and his men move in on Starkwood. It appears they have been duped by Seten because the weapons are nowhere to be found.
  • Starkwood then closes in on FBI threatening them to stand down or prepare to be shot at by their abundance of men.

--------------------------

"If your men advance any further, they will be fired upon." The best moments in 24 are those when the government comes face to face with and is overpowered by terrorists. This going to be like when the terrorists took over CTU in season 6.

Looks like Jack has been shut down at least for one episode. It is always impressive when someone can stop Jack from going berserk on their men. He is now infected with the crazy bioweapon. If the video that Pres Taylor was watching from Sengala was any indication, it's not gonna be pretty. It appears as though Jack will go down next ep from watching "scenes".

FBI: You guys got took by this Greg character. Although it looks bad, I can't blame them. The dude killed one of his allies to free Tony Almeida. I would consider that enough to consider his info to be legit as well.

I'm anxious to see how this whole Aaron Pierce situation will play out. Pierce is a longtime character in this show and he seems to be one of those people who is respected by everyone. That is until big bad Olivia Taylor came along. She is officially the one character that I absolutely can not stand. She is way too conceited and, from what I can tell, for no reason. Someone needs to put her in her place.

Rating and Statistics:

Rating: 4 Stars - a set up episode that includes unpredictable twists. A great cliffhanger as well. Minimal action, but not too much action is expected from a set up episode.

Jack Bauer Kill Count: 25

Episode 16: 0 Kills.

No Kills for Jack this hour. Something tells me he will make up for that in the near future.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 15

Tony: "Your gonna trun the surveillance job into a fire fight. It'll be Two against ten."

Jack: "Two against nine."

One of the few moments in 24 that made me laugh. Tony knows that he wont be able to dissaude Jack from saving the PA Officer, but he tries anyway. It appears for a second that it might have worked until a shot is fired and the PA Officer isn't dead. Just a prime example as to why Jack should never make any promises. It could have cost thousands of lives.

Scenes from Episode 16 : 11:00PM - 12:00AM

Looks like another exciting one. Check it out. Monday 9/8c on FOX

Episode 15: The Following Takes Place Between 10:00P.M. and 11:00P.M.

10:00P.M. - 10:13P.M.

  • Ethan believes that it his fault that Senator Mayer is dead, and asks for President Taylor to accept his resignation.
  • Madame Pres talks to the First Gentleman and he is expected to make a full recovery
  • Jack and Tony arrive at the Port and begin their attempt to attain the bio-weapon.

10:16PM - 10:25PM

  • Starkwood is introduced as an undercover military group.
  • Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight) is working with Greg in his work with the terrorists.
  • The Port Authority officer is going to have to let the terrorists in the Port while Jack and Tony wait to move in.
  • It's about to get ugly.

10:29PM - 10:34PM

  • Port Authority Officer Carl opens the gate for the pickup. The lead man makes him get in the truck with his men. He's beat.
  • Olivia leaks more information about the White House activity. She has some kind of deal with a news producer. She wants to make sure that all the blame goes on Ethan, not the President, and that she is not identified as the source of this info.

10:39PM - 10:49PM

  • After the terrorists are finished with Carl, they go on to kill him, but before that, Jack intervenes and saves Carl.
  • This causes them to engage in a firefight and takeover the truck. Tony keeps cover while Jack takes over the truck.
  • After Jack gets the truck, Tony is spotted and surrenders. The men recognize Tony as one of Emerson's crew and they know that Jack must be with him. Jack has to decide to trun back and save him, or to keep going with the mission.

10:54PM - 11:00PM

  • Jack alerts Agent Moss about the bio-weapon.
  • Jack has to stop because he realizes that one of the canisters has been breached. He goes in to fixed this and as an affect is exposed to the hazardous gas.
  • Before FBI can reach Jack and the truck, the terrorists reach him, and with the help of the helicopter, recover the weapon.
  • We are left off with Jack telling Moss that he has been exposed to the bio-weapon.

--------------

So Jack is exposed to some sort of biological weapon. We are left trying to figure out what tragic effect this will have on Jack without him dying because we all know thats not gonna happen. Anyway, Jack can't seem to have all of his "friends" at once. When Tony is on his side, Agent Moss orders his men to shoot on sight. When Jack earns Larry's trust, Tony is taken hostage.

Olivia Taylor is Cold-Blooded. She doesn't care who she betrays, or who's life she ruins, as long as she get her way, she simply doesn't care. Jeapordizing her own mother's administration just for her own benefit is just wrong. And its angers me how President Taylor is too oblivious and sympathetic to realize it.

Jack should never promise anyone anything ever again. Every time he promises to keep someone safe, it comes right back to bite him and he ends up risking his mission to save them. That's enough Jack, like Tony said, you knew he was dead as soon as he walked out that door.

Ethan Kanin has resigned, but he has developed into too much of a prominent role to have him gone forever. I give it about 3 episodes before we see Ethan again.

**This might be one of the most careless mistakes we have seen in 24. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but during the "Previously On 24" segment of tonight's episode, they showed John Quinn saying the following before he died: "You're too late. They are already here." But in the original episode, aired 3/16, Quinn only said, "They are already here." The mistake was minor and had no affect on the actual plot, but to me seemed very careless. If I can notice that after only seeing it once, the producer of the show should catch it considering its their job.

Rating and Statistics

Rating: 4 Stars. New problem is introduced along with action and several twists. Not quite as good as last week though.

Jack Bauer Kill Count

Episode 15: 3 Kills

Season 7: 25 Kills

Character Deceased 10PM to 11PM: 3 unnamed terrorists

Highlight of the Week: Episode 14

As if you didn't already know what is would be...Here it is:

Simply Incredible. The best part was how Jack rips the screwdriver out of Quinn's chest, and with blood dripping from it, sticks it into the ignition of the truck to start it. Then, as if he already didn't show us who's boss, he rams the truck thru the fence just to be sure.

I only have one question about this clip and that is: What happened to Quinn's gun? When Jack knocked him off of the roof, his gun was still up there, right? Why didn't Jack just pick up his gun and shoot him? I guess Jack figured that was too easy and wanted to kill him the old-fashioned way instead.

Jack Bauer Kill #22 / Scenes From The Next Episode

Kill No.: 22
Dead: John Quinn
One of the most impressive kills thus far for Jack. After a long struggle he threw a screwdriver that penetrated his bulletproof vest and got stuck in his chest.

Episode 15: 10:00P.M. to 11:00P.M. is Mon, March 23 at 9/8c on FOX. This should be another good one. Scenes from the next episode:

Episode 14: The Following Takes Place Between 9:00P.M. and 10:00P.M.

During the commercial breaks, I will discuss what happens to serve as a quick summary of the episode:

9:00PM - 9:11PM:

  • Jack flees the hospital

  • Morris wants to know where Chloe is

  • Quinn is connected to Senator Mayer

  • Jack contacts Renee and Agent Moss knows he can use her to locate Bauer

9:15PM - 9:25PM:

  • President Taylor agrees to implement Olivia's suggestion into her speech

  • Larry Moss asks Renee for Jack's location, but she wont give it up. Moss put her in holding.

  • Jack breaks into Mayer's house in an attempt to access his files concerning Starkwood and its connection to Juma.

9:29PM - 9:36PM

  • Ethan accuses Olivia of leaking info to the press about Ethan's authorization of the interrogation of Burnett.

  • Janis can't encrypt the data that Renee sent Jack, but Morris can. Agent Moss agrees to grant Chloe immunity of her charges if he can decrypt the file. Janis says the file is encrypted with "Blowfish 148" (whatever that is), but Morris could do it anyway. The address of Senator Mayer comes up and Moss scrambles a team to that location.

9:40PM - 9:48PM

  • Chloe is released from holding and is upset with Morris for releasing Jack's location.

  • Jack and Senator Mayer talk about past regrets and intentions. Jack discovers that Starkwood was involved in Juma's development of a bio-weapon. As soon as Jack begins to uncover important info. There is a knock at the door claiming they are Metro PD. Mayer opens the door to find Quinn with a gun pointed right at him. Quinn kills Mayer then proceeds to chase Jack who barely escapes with the help of the approaching police cars.

9:53PM - 10:00PM

  • Olivia is able to prove to Madame Prez that she was not the one who release the info and she manage to convince her source to bury the story

  • Moss and his team arrive at Mayer's house to find Mayer murdered. Moss immediately jumps to the conclusion that this is the work of Jack Bauer, and orders his men to "shoot on sight".

  • Quinn eventually finds Jack, but Jack manages to lure him into a little house where Jack is waiting to flip over the house with a tractor. From there, they engage in a classic all out brawl with out guns. Jack is able to get a hold of a screwdriver which he hurls at Quinn and lodges it in his chest before he smashes him over the head with a block of wood. With his dying breath, Quinn manages to tell Jack that the bio-weapon has already arrived in the US. Jack then calls up Tony Almeida and tell him to bring weapons and a surveillance kit and to meet him at a specific location.

-----------------

Episodes like this make me wonder how I survived that extra long period in between seasons 6 and 7. Wow. The return of Morris, the uncovering of a new terrorist plot, a cold blooded assassination, and a classic Jack Bauer moment.

As soon as we thought Jack Bauer had used every resource in the world, he uses a tractor. A tractor! He knocked over the over that Quinn was in, then proceeded to leap from the tractor onto him and to bash his face in. As with most of these "brawls" Jack struggles for a splits second, but ultimately prevails. This time, with a screwdriver and a block of wood. This, more than anything, reminded me of Jack's crazy execution of Fayed back in Season 6.

24 knows when to introduce and re-introduce characters. As soon as people began to wonder where Tony has been, they stick him right in there as a cliffhanger for next week.

Renee again placed more faith in Jack this hour in refusing to give up information that she has on Jack. I sense another Chloe type of character forming. Someone who trusts Jack no matter what and will do anything to help him. Renee is not at that status yet, but she is well on her way.

Agent Moss now has the FBI along with many other agencies in pursuit of Jack with orders to shoot on sight. This basically means Jack will do take extreme measures stay stealth and to intercept this bio-weapon because he knows that if he is seen by FBI, this attack will not be stopped.

From the "scenes from the next episode", we know that Ethan Kanin will ask for his resignation. We will find out what sparks this and how it goes down.

Rating and Statistics

Rating: 4.5 Stars out of 5 - The beginning of the episode was mediocre, but the ending was absolutely incredible. Just misses a perfect 5 out of 5.

Highlight of the Week: Episode 13

Here's the deal. Every week I will select a highlight from the latest episode. At the end of the season I will create a post with all the highlights from the season on it and from them, a Highlight of Season 7 will be selected.

Here is this week's highlight:

"They're done talking to you. Thats why they sent me"

Well this one starts out with Agent Moss putting his hand on Jack's chest and telling him what he can and can't do (never works) and Jack just gives him a look like, "You might wanna take your hands off of me, buddy."

The look on Burnett's face when he sees Jack is priceless. You know you're bad all takes is for somebody to see you to become frozen with fear. I think its pretty funny how nervous Jack can make someone without even touching them.

BTW, why does that Quinn guy look just like Chef Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen?

First Post; Let's Get Caught Up

Well with this blog just starting and Season 7 already in progress, let me do a list of some things we know so far:

  1. The show is set in Washington D.C. this year instead of the usual location of Los Angeles, CA. The President this time is the nation's first female President, President Taylor.

  2. Colonel Dubaku* and his "crew" created some kind of universal override mechanism called the CIP Device that gives him the ability to cause havoc such as hack into air traffic control and release poisonous gas in power plants. This is exactly what Dubaku does until Jack Bauer and his ragtag "CTU" consisting of Bill Buchanan*, Chloe O'Brien, and Tony Almeida bust in on Dubaku's headquarters and seize the CIP Device. Of course, Dubaku finds away to escape.

  3. The whole basis and motive of these terrorist attacks goes a little something like this. General Juma* of Sengala and his troops kidnap kids in Sengala and train them to become soldiers. The prime minister of Sengala, Matobo urges President Taylor to intervene and Sengala and restore the peace in his country. Madame President has to decide whether to send US troops into Sengala and risks more attack by Juma*, Dubaku*, and their men, or to ignore Matobo pleads and do nothing about the crisis in Sengala.

  4. Basically from there, Dubaku* tries a couple more attacks and ultimatums, but in the end, they all fail eventually resulting in Dubaku attempting to flee the US. This attempt fails and he is captured, and eventually killed by Juma's men to prevent him from releasing important information.

  5. At this point, General Juma is tired of his men failing in attempts to scare off the US and decides to take matters into his own hands. He gathers up a group of his fully strapped and loaded men and, with the help of an inside man, bust into the White House. They barrel down several corridors lighting up anybody and everybody in their path in an attempt to find Madame Prez. Jack, who is supposed to be in a holding room, gets let out by Bill* once they realize that The White House is under attack. Bill* says something along the lines of 'you're just too good to be locked up during this' hands him a handgun and they begin to try to get President Taylor to safety. Eventually Jack and President Taylor manage to get themselves into a locked impenetrable safe-room while everybody else in the House is being held hostage. Juma* gains knowledge that the President's daughter, Olivia is hiding somewhere in the White House from his outside source of John Voight's character. Juma* effectively threatens to torture Olivia to draw President Taylor and Jack out of the safe-room. Juma* forces the Prez to read a letter that he wrote over a live internet feed and to ultimately, stage a live execution of the President of the United States. Jack and Bill wont let this happen and Bill decides to take his own live to cause a distraction while Jack mows everybody down with his pistol. After all the chaos that resulted from this, Madame President is safe, The White House is stabilized, and Bill Buchanan* is dead. This caused Jack to show one of his rare glimpses of emotion which is quickly terminated due to the realization that this threat might not be over. Jack is sent to question Ryan Burnett* in hope to gain info about a next attack, but is ambushed by a man who kills Burnett and frames Jack for the murder. Jack, knowing that he can't be in the room when Agent Moss gets there, flees. Jack then calls up Moss explaining to him what really happened in the room.

That is basically where we are at now. I know many details have been left out, but this was sort of just a mind refresher. So far, I think Season 7 has been the best season yet. They have gone all out with many twists and exciting cliffhangers. Episode 14: 9:00PM - 10:00PM is Mon March 18 at 9/8c. Stay tuned for scenes from the next episode:
